Die internationale Fachmesse jazzahead! findet seit 2006 jährlich in Bremen statt und hat sich über die Jahre zum größten Branchentreff der internationalen Jazzszene entwickelt. 2025 verzeichnete die Messe über 22.000 Besucher*innen aus über 65 Ländern. Sie stammen aus sämtlichen Bereichen der Szene: Künstler*innen und Booker- & Promotor*innen, Labels, Agenturen, Verlage, Festival- & Clubprogrammmacher*innen, Vertriebe, Lobby-Institutionen, Verbände, Presse und mehr. Die jazzahead! ist Messe, Konferenz und Showcase Festival – mit zeitgenössischem, hochkarätigem Jazz aus Deutschland und Europa und Übersee, mit einem jährlich wechselnden Partner-Land. 2026 wird die jazzahead! 20 Jahre jung und mit Schweden eines der aktuell am prägensten Jazzländer der Welt in den Mittelpunkt stellen.
JAZZ CITY HAMBURG
Seit 2011 organisiert das Jazzbüro den Hamburger Messestand unter dem Motto JAZZ CITY HAMBURG. Über die Jahre vereint der Gemeinschaftsstand die unterschiedlichen Aktivisten*innen der Hamburger Jazzszene Seite an Seite. Am Hamburger Stand vertreten sind z.B. die Elbphilharmonie, die Konzertagentur Karsten Jahnke mit den Festivals ELBJAZZ & ÜBERJAZZ, die NDR Jazzredaktion mit ihrer Konzertreihe, die Clubs HALLE 424, JazzHall, das Birdland und Nica Jazz Club, Herzog Records, maganda Booking, die Promotion Agentur Heart Beat & Soul, die Jazz Federation, die Jazzinternetplatform und Dienstleister JAZZ PALACE, das Label A-Jazz, die Jazzinitiative Hamburg, Der JazzDay Germany, das Jazzbüro mit dem Festival Jazz Open und der Jazz Moves Hamburg Blog, sowie weitere Akteure und Musiker*innen…
Großer Beliebtheit erfreut sich in jedem Jahr auch die gemeinsame PR-Aktion DO YOU KNOW FRANZBRÖTCHEN. Jeweils am am Freitag Nachmittag lädt JAZZ CITY HAMBURG zum traditionellen „Franzbrötchen-Empfang“. Alle Hamburger Vertreter*innen und Musiker*innen sind bei diesem legeren Treffen anwesend und bereit für Austausch und Vernetzung.

The international trade fair jazzahead! has been held annually in Bremen since 2006 and has developed over the years into the largest industry gathering of the international jazz scene. In 2025 more than 22.000 visitors from 65 countries took part. They come from all areas of the scene: artists, bookers and promoters, labels, agencies, publishers, festival and club programmers, distributors, lobby institutions, associations, press, and more. jazzahead! is a trade fair, conference, and showcase festival—featuring contemporary, top-class jazz from Germany, Europe, and overseas, with a different partner country each year. In 2026, jazzahead! will be 20 years young and will focus on Sweden, one of the most influential jazz countries in the world today.
